When calamity struck the lead pack on the final lap of the GEICO 500
at Talladega Superspeedway, Tyler Reddick masterfully steered clear of
the carnagefor his first win of the 2024 season.
Reddick, with the No. 45 Jordan Brand Toyota Camry XSE, was
attempting a run from the outside lane off turn four with the checkered
flag in the air. Then, contact between the top-two drivers caused the
leader to crash and other front-runners to lose momentum. That opened
the door for Reddick to speed by everyone and narrowly cross the finish
line first. It was Reddick’s sixth career NASCAR Cup Series® win and his
first at the 2.66-mile Talladega track.
