With an injured Erik Jones sidelined from the seat of the No. 43
LEGACY Motor Club entry at Dover, Corey Heim took the reins of the
team’s Toyota Camry XSE as he made his first NASCAR Cup Series® start.
Heim, a 21-year-old Georgia native, got the call to drive the
famed No. 43 car as a result of his stellar NASCAR Craftsman Truck
Series® career, which also earned him a spot as the LEGACY Motor Club
reserve driver position in 2024. With Jones’ name represented on the
car’s roof and windows, Heim battled with the NASCAR Cup Series® stars
and gained valuable experience inside the cockpit throughout the
400-mile battle at Dover. Heim’s first series start netted a 25th place
finish and established his spot as a NASCAR Cup Series® star of the
future.
