Alex Bowman conquered the streets of Chicago to pick up his first NASCAR
Cup Series® victory of the 2024 season in the Grant Park 165.
Bowman’s
eighth career NASCAR Cup Series® victory came in an event that featured
differing wet vs. slick tire strategies through treacherous post-rain
delay
conditions. The Hendrick Motorsports driver used his
wet-condition tires to blast to the lead on lap 51 with darkness
looming. With his Ally No. 48 Chevrolet,
Bowman held on through a
late-race restart to take the checkered flag when it flew at lap 58 of
the scheduled 75-lap distance because of the rain delay.
